Composer S. M. Clark has written works for a wide range of genres including opera, full orchestra, chamber orchestra, small ensembles, vocal soloists and film. A native of Newport Rhode Island he studied composition with Conrad Pope, Harold Shapero, Robert Di Domenica and Yehudi Wyner as well as conducting with Gunther Schuller. He holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Composition and Theory from the New England Conservatory of Music, and a PHD in Composition and Theory from Brandeis University.
